Limelight
The NWOBHM explosion of the early 80's in England spawned
hundreds of eager young metal bands, a few of which made it
to superstardom, but the majority of which only managed to
record the odd single or album before fading into obscurity.
The latter camp is where Limelight fell, a decent enough band
who scored a minor hit in their hometown with "Metal Man" before
recording a low-budget self-titled album in 1980, more on the
melodic side of the fence but otherwise not much different than
a lot of their contemporaries.
Virtually the entire album was either re-recorded or (more likely)
simply re-released four years later as
Ashes To Ashes.
