Mausoleum Gate

Mausoleum Gate is an interesting band name that might conjure several genres, but chances are that 70's prog/metal worship might not be one of them. Yet that's what 2017's Into A Dark Divinity brings to mind, with plenty of Hammond organ work that inevitably brings bands like Deep Purple to mind, but there are also darker, more metallic influences on display. The album dynamic is a bit strange as well, with three short upbeat rockers interspersed with three 9+ minute epics, where the band stretches its prog rock sensibilities in feel if not in technicality.
