Oathean
Oathean is certainly not the only Korean metal band in existence,
but it's a rare feat when a Korean metal band releases an album
outside their homeland, and these guys have done that with their
2005 release
Fading Away Into The Grave Of Nothingness,
released on the very respected The End label.
They've been criticized by some as being little more than a
pale copy of melodic bands such as
Dimmu Borgir
-- yes, this is a melodic black metal band to be sure, and much
of their work isn't wildly original, but there are nice touches
such as some graceful female vocals and the occasional
interesting keyboard flourish.
Oathean aren't in the same league as the big boys yet, but
they have done well to make it this far in their career, and
there's certainly potential that has yet to be untapped.
