Sanguisugabogg
Sanguisugabogg have relatively quickly become underground
death metal darlings for a number of reasons,
what with their
impossible-to-read (even by death metal standards) logo,
ridiculous song titles,
and of course the more-than-a-mouthful band name itself.
Apparently bolstered by a strong social media and
marketing presence, the band
quickly signed to
Century Media
on the strength and popularity of their 2019
demo
Pornographic Seizures.
Two years later came the proper debut in
Tortured Whole,
highlighting the groups grindy, twisted old-school-inspired
filthy death and also featuring a curiously tuned snare drum that
is either really cool or quite distracting depending on
one's point of view.
The 2023 followup
Homicidal Ecstasy is more of the same, arguably
slightly more focused and less grindy, though no doubt still
keeping the fan base happy.
