Steel Assassin

Formed in the early eighties, Steel Assassin was one of the hordes of bands featured on the classic Metal Massacre compilations that Metal Blade made famous, in this case appearing on VI with the song "Executioner". Despite good reviews and a solid fan base, various internal problems derailed the band, and they broke up around 1986, seemingly relegating them to the one-and-done status of many a Metal Massacre band. But over the years the members kept in touch while participating in local bands and projects, and some twenty years after their breakup four of the five members decided to give it another go. 2007 saw the release of their proper debut album, War Of The Eight Saints (several years earlier, a compilation of remastered demo tracks was released as From The Vaults). Released on Sentinel Steel Records (a natural fit), Saints is unabashedly 80's classic metal, reminiscient of the greats of old power metal (Jag Panzer, Helstar, many others), with galloping riffs aplenty aside strong vocals and a general epic metal feel. Proof positive that it's never to late to join in the action.
