The Three Tremors

The idea of bringing together three top-flight metal vocalists in project named The Three Tremors (of course, a play on opera's The Three Tenors) had apparently been around for awhile, with no less than Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford, and Geoff Tate considering such a move in the 2000's. In 2019 the project came to fruition with an entirely different trio in Harry Conklin (Jag Panzer), Sean Peck (Cage), and Tim Owens (a bunch of bands, notably a Judas Priest stint), with Peck's Cage bandmates serving as the musicians. The results are what one might expect -- of course, the vocalists know what they're doing, the music is fine (solid traditional metal) though ultimately a shade on the generic side. One downside that several have brought up is that the three singers, though clearly not clones of each other, do have similar timbres and styles, so the interplay between them is less complementary and more simply trying to be heard. The fact that the songs on the debut were also released in a 3-album set where each guy sings on his own is either an interesting alternative or an admission that the premise hasn't quite been worked out. Still, it's a nice idea that may well flourish in the future (not sure how committed everyone is to this act since they've all got other bands to deal with).
