Theocracy
Theocracy was originally a solo vehicle for guitarist/vocalist
Matt Smith,
becoming a proper band for the second album and beyond and
recording sporadically since the 2003 self-titled debut.
As heard on 2016's
Ghost Ship,
the band's style is solidly Euro-inspired
upbeat melodic power/prog
metal, with a clinically tight production, clear soaring vocals from Smith,
Christian-leaning but not heavy-handed lyrics, and plenty
of impressive soloing and standout musicianship.
