Vornagar

This band originated in the San Jose area and self-released an album in 2005. Not many Californian bands play melodic death metal, so give the band credit there, the style here doesn't directly steal from the familiar Gothenburg scene but isn't too far removed from it, particularly when compared to the earlier, heavier classics of the genre. The vocals are a bit one-dimensional, at times bordering on hardcore, a bit of variation might help here. Apparently the band is now a two-piece, the pair relocating to Oregon and in search of new members.
