Virus
This bizarre Norwegian combo formed in 2000, somewhat as a continuation
of another experimental black metal band in
Ved Buens Ende,
and over the course of four albums proved itself to be one odd duck,
their style
basically being a curious form of jazzy
art/post-black metal with rather meandering vocals
and a sort of lazy experimentalism that is actually
refreshing in this age of *-core bludgeoning.
Lyrically, too, these were on their own planet, at least if
titles such as
"Gum, Meet, Mother" and
"Kennel Crash Recovery" are any indication.
They finally decided to throw in the towel in 2018, with all three
guys involved in other bands at the time of the announcement.
