Based on their 2012 debut
Earth Blood Magic,
this Icelandic band may on to something.
Their style blends several metal genres rather seemlessly, incorporating
elements of progressive, black, and post-metal (the term "post-black metal"
has been used to describe this band, and that's a fair start at least),
with plenty of light and shade and a variety of vocal styles from leader
Birgir Thorgeirsson.
That first album was recorded as a duo, with Thorgeirsson fleshing out
the band to a quintet for their sophomore effort, 2015's
Kyrr.
