Poverty's No Crime rank alongside
Vanden Plas
as standouts in the German progressive rock/metal
scene, with a style owing to familiar sources
(Dream Theater for one,
though they aren't quite as flashy with the musicianship)
as well as their own unique take on prog metal.
Though it might be argued that their music is just a shade
generic for the genre, all the elements are in place, from
a solid production to well-composed songs and powerful
yet not overdone vocals.
They formed in 1991 and have released six albums to date,
most recently Save My Soul in 2007.
