Rain

When one thinks of Swiss bands playing techno-flavored post-black metal, invariably Samael comes to mind. Thus, when another band from the same country plays a somewhat similar style, Samael is likely to be named a soundalike. Such was the lot in life for Rain, and though these guys were far from a Samael clone, there are some similarities between that band's later albums and Rain's Starlight Extinction, their third and last full-length album released in 2002. The band was formed by guitarist/programmer Drop in 1997 and recorded a couple of promo EPs after Starlight in anticipation of a fourth album, but apparently they are no more.
