Rwake

Arkansas' finest sludge combo have three albums to their credit thus far, the most recent being Voice Of Omens, their first for the Relapse label. At their core they embody sludge metal, with drippingly heavy riffs and tortured, distant screaming, though they aren't afraid to let a bit of atmospheric ambience creep in as well. Omens is surprisingly mature and well developed, showing a bit more variance and emotion than one might think on first listen.
