Stabbing Westward

Stabbing westward formed in Illinois in the mid-eighties and eventually earned a contract with Columbia Records, who released their 1994 debut album Ungod. The style was industrial metal along the lines of Nine Inch Nails, though over the course of four albums the industrial influences were diminished and a more alterna-metal style emerged. 2001 saw the band releasing a self-titled effort, the title meant to reflect a rebirth and new focus for the band, but a year after its release, in February 2002, the band instead announced its amicable breakup. After a long absense peppered with the occasional reunion gig, the core duo of Chris Hall and Walter Flakus officially put the band back together around 2019.
