Tiles

Formed in 1993, Detroit's Tiles has built a solid reputation as a premier prog band. Musically, there is the occasional nod to mid-period Rush (one of several connections to Geddy's gang -- Rush producer Terry Brown and cover artist Hugh Syme both perform similar roles here), maybe a bit of Dream Theater in the vocal department, along with Tiles' own unique stamp of originality. As with any good prog band, the musicianship is high but the players manage to show their chops without being overly indulgent or too flashy. Not a true progressive metal band, but perhaps more of a prog rock/metal band instead, Tiles is one of the more mature, professional bands making the rounds these days.
