Toundra
Spanish instrumental post-metal!
A rarity to be sure -- in fact, pick any two of those three descriptors
and you still have something uncommon.
Founded in 2007, Toundra released a string of albums on lesser labels
before
Inside Out
wisely snapped them up,
and as heard on 2022's
Hex,
the guys are now firing on all cylinders.
The band oozes class, the songs largely soothing and relaxing before
building to invigorating climaxes per the blueprint of modern
progressive post-metal.
This style is a bit off the beaten path, but that aforementioned
description piques even a bit of interest,
Hex is very much
worth a listen.
