Venomous Maximus

Venomous Maximus are a Houston band who formed in 2010 and released their third full-length album, No Warning, in 2017. Their style is a somewhat darkened, riff-heavy take on traditional metal, with some doom and occult inflections, though not enough to classify the band as occult rock. Adding to the originality is the unconventional vocals of Greg Higgins, whose deep voice, commanding presence and semi-spoken style adds a bit of mystique to the tunes. As of this writing, Venomous Maximus is still flying a bit under the radar but they have an original style that would appeal to a wide range of metal fans.
