Cannabis Corpse,
Bongzilla's seemingly entire lyrical content focuses on weed,
ramming it down the listener's throat with endless puns and
turns of phrase.
But while CC is a death metal band, Bongzilla plays something
arguably more expected from a band that's perennially stoned,
that being sludgy stoner metal, with rather incoherent blackened
rasps on the vocal front.
They recorded extensively in the late 90's and early oughts, with
a slew of splits and EPs and albums as well, before going on hiatus
in 2009.
They returned in 2015 and in 2021 released their first full-length in
sixteen years in Weedsconsin.
