Caligula's Horse

After a few independent releases, Australia's own Caligula's Horse joined the Inside Out roster and thus ascended to the pinnacle of melodic progressive metal. The label has rarely faltered over the last 20+ years and even within the last decade has produced standouts such as Haken, Leprous, Pain Of Salvation, and many more. Caligula's Horse deservedly belongs in that upper echelon, as they possess all of the quality characteristics of the genre: soaring melodic vocals, plenty of advanced musicianship though rarely self-indulgent, and a general sense of class and majesty. Among prog bands from Australia, they rank with Voyager as the best of the lot, and even within the crowded field of progressive metal, they stand tall.
