Lilitu
Lilitu managed three albums in their career, but it has been a
sometimes frustrating
run for the band, as their style is hard to pin down and certainly
not a popular sound in their hometown of Atlanta, or even the US
in general for that matter.
Memorial, the middle of the three releases, combines some
Swedish-styled melodic death metal with a dark, gothic doom sense,
resulting in a brooding, adventurous sound, with
vocalist Derek Bonner alternating tortured shrieks with a surprisingly
well-developed clean singing voice.
After continual problems finding a record label,
The End
Records came to the rescue for their third album, the
well-received
Delores Lesion, released in 2004.
Soon afterward, Bonner and guitarist Jason Piona
recruited new members and formed Blood Promise, which may or may not
still be around.
