Mannhai
Finnish stoner rockers Mannhai were formed in 1999 by
guitarist Ilkka Laaksomaa and
former
Amorphis
bassst Olli-Pekka Laine, and recorded four albums between 2001 and 2006.
The band's 2002 sophomore effort,
Evil Under The Sun,
is a classic stoner rockfest, with thick
meaty riffs, gritty vocals, and a general style
influenced by bands such as
Spiritual Beggars,
Fu Manchu, and
maybe a touch of later-period
Entombed.
They announced an indefinite hiatus in 2009, and in 2016 they decided
to reunite.
