Soilent Green

In recent years New Orleans metal has become synonymous with hardcore-ish sludge/doom (examples include Eyehategod, Crowbar, Acid Bath, and Tungsten). Soilent Green fits in well with this style, especially in the vocal department (mostly hardcore screaming, some death metal growls). The music, on the other hand, swings wildly from frenzied grindcore (circa early Napalm Death), to grinding doom riffing, usually switching gears many times within a single song. The result is a chaotic but potent style, perhaps difficult to take in large doses but never lacking for variety or intensity.
