Viper

Though Viper has forged a successful career in its own right, it is still often referred to as the former band of Andre Matos, who went on to greater fame with Angra and Shaman. In fact Matos left this band rather early in their career and for the most part Viper does not resemble the slick melodic metal of Matos' later bands, instead for a more traditional semi-speed metal style that mutated into a punky, hardcore-tinged sound by the time of 1995's Coma Rage, though the early Matos albums such as Theatre Of Fate does show a slightly more melodic side due to Matos' vocals. Matos did return to the fold in 2012 for a spell and has since departed, but the band has continued.
