Immortal Bird

On 2019's Thrive On Neglect, Chicagoans Immortal Bird play a rather caustic form of blackened sludge, with some nods to death metal and Rae Amitay's throaty, harsh growls being the main sludge influence. While the songs tend to blur together, within each song there's a decent amount of pace and variance to keep things interesting.
