Secret Sphere

Secret Sphere is an up-and-comer in the Euro prog/speed metal field. Their sophomore effort, A Time Never Come, is a flawlessly produced and executed slice of prime melodic progressive metal in the Rhapsody Of Fire or Angra vein. Occasionally they get a bit too sweet and poppy for their own good (as on the ballad "The Mystery Of Love"), but in other places a good deal of heaviness emerges (see "Under The Flag Of Mary Read"). If there's a criticism here, it's the same one that one might have for others in this field, and that is that Secret Sphere is offering absolutely nothing new in metal, but instead are content to stay within the confines of the style that has been popular in their native Italy and other European countries for some time now. Having said that, those into the aforementioned bands will surely enjoy this band.
