Year Of The Goat
This Swedish band debuted in 2011 with the
Lucem Ferre EP and
have really made their mark with 2015's
The Unspeakable.
The music seems to be a cross between Finnish goth rock and the recent
occult rock revival headlined by bands such as
The Devil's Blood.
Some have pointed to
Ghost
as a soundalike, and there are some similarities, though Ghost comes
across a bit more sinister and has a more prevalent metal base, while
the Goat is more relaxed and gothy.
Thomas Sabbathi's soulful croon is perfect for this style, his voice is
strong but also displays a certain vulnerability that complements the
music quite well.
Could be a band ready to break to the next level.
