Abigor

Abigor was one of the most successful non-Scandinavian black metal bands, with a career that spanned almost precisely one decade and a multitude of well-received albums. Their last album, 2001's Satanized, sums up the band's outlook well, in that they were clearly in the old-school black metal camp but yet also threw in several twists and turns and a good degree of songwriting depth that allowed the band to rise above simply being another faceless black metal band. Founder Peter Kubik disbanded the group in June of 2003, at the time feeling his new material would not be well received in the black metal community. However, in early 2006 he announced the return of the band, and a new album was released in 2007.
