Mindwarp Chamber
If you're listening to a power/traditional metal band from
Chicago, chances are you're hearing Scott Huffman sing,
or else you're listening to a band that he used to sing for.
He's already spent time with
Syris,
Twelfth Gate,
and
Spirit Web,
and he's back again here in Mindwarp Chamber,
alongside several other veterans of the Chicago
metal scene.
Their first release was a limited edition EP,
a taster for a full-length that eventually was released in
the spring of 2008.
The EP,
Skeptic's Eye, is pretty impressive, rooted in
traditional metal as one might expect, but with a darker
edge and several prog elements as well, partially due to
Ed Bethisou's fine keyboard work.
Huffman provides his usual strong vocals, his voice has
always been an asset to every band he's been in, and here
is no exception.
This band really deserves to be signed, as
Skeptic's Eye
already shows a mature band ready to move to the next level.
